Rigid Body Mechanics for Engineers is an engineering mechanics textbook that clearly and concisely presents the concepts of statics and dynamics of rigid bodies, supported by illustrative figures and drawings. The book includes examples and exercise problems that demonstrate the practical application of these concepts to real-world engineering challenges. Although designed for first-year undergraduate students, the concepts covered can be easily extended to more advanced courses such as Impact Mechanics, Vehicle Dynamics, Mechanical Vibrations, and Theory of Machines.

Key Features:
• Concise, clear, and comprehensive coverage of engineering mechanics
• Exercise problems and solved examples with practical engineering illustrations
• Multiple-choice questions for self-assessment of key concepts
• Advanced topics and illustrations that provide a foundation for higher-level courses

Dr. K. Sri Krishna Sudhamsu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur. He holds a doctoral degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and works in the broad area of mechanics and design engineering. His research focuses on specific engineering applications such as creep, fatigue, high-pressure gaskets, and mechanical valves. Dr. Sudhamsu has industry experience in designing offshore well completion equipment and has taught a number of graduate and postgraduate courses, including Engineering Mechanics, Theory of Machines, Strength of Materials, Advanced Mechanics of Solids, Finite Element Analysis, and Impact Mechanics.

Dr. C. Lakshmana Rao is a Professor in the Department of Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He holds a doctoral degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has over 35 years of teaching and research experience. His research focuses on engineering applications within the fields of Solid Mechanics, Impact Mechanics, Fracture Mechanics, and Damage Mechanics, covering areas such as sports engineering, material modelling, creep, and fatigue. He has authored a number of books in these areas, including Engineering Mechanics, Modelling of Engineering Materials, Applied Impact Mechanics, and Active Buckling Control of Structures.
